Salesperson Prelicensing Course

Offered on a monthly basis at one (or more) of our three Northern Arizona campuses, this 90-hour career preparatory course is the starting point for a new career in real estate or threshold sales. Classes are offered in four (4) different formats:

bulletMorning only classes (Mon., Wed. and Thurs.)
bulletAfternoon only classes (Mon., Wed. and Thurs.)
bulletFull-day accelerated program (Mon., Wed. and Thurs.) - Just 9 days!
bulletWeekend classes (Fri. afternoons & evenings; all day Sat. & Sun.) - 3 weekends

Tuition for the 90-hour series is $499 for weekday series (prepaid at least 7 days in advance of class start date; otherwise $518). $499 for the weekend or satellite campus courses (prepaid at least 7 days in advance of class start date; otherwise $518).  $525 for "Combo" Campus Courses (attendance at two locations)

27-hour State Specifics Course

The Arizona Department of Real Estate will no longer grant waivers of education to prelicensing candidates from other states, regardless of the number of hours attended at any real estate school, community college or university.  This new regulation became effective February 2008.  Please contact the school for a schedule of the now-required 90 hour prelicensing course for either salesperson or broker license.

Broker Prelicensing Course

Obtaining a Broker's License is a major career goal of many active practitioners. Best School of Real Estate offers a "Flex Schedule" program to help make classroom attendance convenient as well as stimulating. Here are the basic requirements to qualify for an Arizona  Broker's license.

Three years active experience as a real estate salesperson or broker within the past five years (in Arizona, any other state, or any combination of states).

bullet

Completion of Verification of Employing Broker form (LI-226) signed by each broker under whom you've been employed during this period.

bullet

Successful completion of a 90-hour Broker Prelicensing Course (including school testing)

bullet

Passage of the State Licensing Examination (offered in Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tempe and Tucson)

bullet

Attendance at a 3-hour Broker Management clinic prior to Broker License activation.

The Broker Prelicensing course is offered regularly by Best School of Real Estate & Appraisal at the school's Sedona campus. Tuition is $585 (pre-registration discount)/ $598 (if paid upon beginning of classes), including:

Appraisal Prelicensing Course

The appraisal profession entry-level "Licensed Real Estate Appraiser" designation permits licensees to appraise one to four-family residential properties utilizing non-complex methodology, and having a transaction value less than $1 million. Complex approaches to one to four-family residential properties with a transaction value less than $250,000 may also be performed (per the competency provision of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice).

Education Requirement

Appraisal students must complete a 150-hour classroom and field workshop course, which Best School of Real Estate and Appraisal offers in five individual modules of instruction:
bulletBasic Appraisal Principles - 45 classroom hours - Background in real estate ownership, estates/tenancies, finance/financing programs, transfer of property interest and legal land description.
bulletBasic Appraisal Procedures - 30 classroom hours - Appraisal forms, format, review and preparation. This module includes research laboratory, residential construction/Uniform Building Code, appraisal math/statistics and review appraisal.  Additionally, a field workshop (on-location appraisal) and team prep session on form reporting are included.
bulletUniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice -      15 classroom hours - The ethics and professional approach to the Appraisal industry as instructed by AQB-certified appraiser/instuctor.
bulletResidential Sales Comparison and Income Approaches - 45 classroom hours - Detailed instruction in comparative analysis of market data and income capitalization
bulletResidential Report Writing - 15 classroom hours - Preparation of the Uniform Residential Appraisal Report form, employing data and analysis from field workshop and team prep session.

 

Course Schedule

Experience Requirement

Students of appraisal must accumulate 2000 hours of actual appraisal experience with a minimum 18-month period. This experience is cumulative and may be completed (at least in part) even prior to classroom attendance of 150 hours of instruction. An experience log is utilized to record these hours. All entry material must be reviewed by a certified appraiser, under whom the apprentice appraiser is being supervised before log entry.

License Application

The process includes:

Submission of experience log (2000 hours within past 18 months minimum)

bullet

Preparation of Application (obtained from the Arizona Board of Appraisal)

bullet

Payment of Application/Review of Credentials fee (approximately $400)

bullet

Approval and notification by the Board of Appraisal that the candidate is cleared for examination reservation

bullet

Examination (national examination administered by a national testing at a Phoenix testing facility)

bullet

Exam passage and Board granting of state license
